RESEARCH Approximately 80 professors* Approximately 200 research students Research that makes the difference… Our ambition is for the University’s research to contribute to the development of a sustainable society. It is important that our research is well established in the surrounding society. * Malmö University has 38 percent of women professors. This means that we have the highest proportion of women professors in the country. Stockholms University falls in second place with 28 percent.

MALMÖ Sweden’s third biggest city with a population of around 300,000. Average age group of Malmö citizens is 36 years. In Skåne the average age group is 40 years and in Sweden it is 41 years. Culturally diverse with around 170 nationalities. Previously a traditional industry city, now characterised by entrepreneurship and a skilled workforce. Linked with Copenhagen and the rest of Europe via the Öresund Bridge. In the population group 25-64 years, 46% of Malmö residents have a higher education.
