Abstrak As one of the features in literary works, radio drama involves many considerations and aspects to succeed its production. Therefore, an author has to work together with directors, sound effect artists and producers of radio drama. The concentration of this study is to analyze the interrelations among radio drama elements to understand how they support each other and how they take part in the production, especially the roles of properties in raising tensions. Moreover, by studying the elements of radio drama, a better understanding about the structure of literary works is expected to appear as a result. The object of this study is Lucille Fletcher’s radio drama Sorry Wrong Number. This study emphasized on five main problems; they are: 1) How is the plot of the drama? 2) At what points are tensions found? 3) How are tensions shaped by other elements of the drama? 4) How do properties support tensions? 5) What properties are expected to appear in the drama? The objectives of this study are to explain the roles of properties in raising tensions, as well as to expose the interrelations of radio drama elements. The method applied in this final project is qualitative descriptive. The source of the data is the script of Sorry Wrong Number. The procedures of colleting data include reading the script, identifying, inventorying, classifying, and reporting. The techniques of analyzing are by exposing, analyzing the meanings and indications, and classifying the indications answering each problem. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the roles of properties in raising tensions are found when those properties facilitate actors to do their actions and in the production of sound effects that stimulate the listener’s imaginations. Those imaginations are the results expected by radio drama writers and producers.
