2.  Will cover aspects of all four AS topics: ◦ Les médias ◦ La culture populaire ◦ Une vie saine ◦ La famille et les relations personnelles  2 parts: ◦ Part 1: discussion of stimulus card > 5 mn ◦ Part 2: conversation > 10 mn ◦ 20 mn preparation

3.  Stimulus card based on AS topics, each dealing with a specific sub-topic  You are given 2 cards and you must chose one  20 mn preparation  Stimulus card has got 5 questions

4.  You can write notes but not on the stimulus card.  You can have your notes with you in the examination room  2 mn 30 to answer the 5 questions  Followed by 2 mn 30 of further questions

5.  Those supplementary questions can be generated by candidates’ response  But discussion must stay within the confines of the subtopic specified on the card  Discussion should flow naturally

6.  Conversation will cover the 3 remaining AS topics (approx 3 mn on each topics)  First topic for discussion is about Cinema (covering the popular culture topic)  You can have a prompt card for your chosen topic containing up to 5 short headings ( no full sentences or conjugated verbs).

7.  A form containing the 5 headings of your prompt card will be sent to the examiner

8. Topic – Cinéma Ciné : art ou divertissement ? Mes films préférés Les films d’horreur L’influence du cinéma L’avenir du cinéma

9.  During the 3 mn discussion, the examiner might not cover all the points on the prompt card or in the order listed.  But discussion centered around cinema.  Examiner will make a clear transition from one topic to another

10.  The remaining 2 topics will be chosen by the examiner, avoiding any overlap with the part 1 stimulus card and your nominated topic  You will not know in advance which aspects will be covered  At the end, you will have been examined on the 4 AS topics

11.  Part 1 Discussion of stimulus card/10 / 5 in response to the stimulus questions / 5 in the more general discussion  Part 2 Conversation/25 / 10 fluency / 10 interaction / 5 pronunciation and intonation  Overall mark for knowledge of grammar /15
