Demanding Direction – Statement requires or directly commands an action that the children must do or not do. Tutorial – A question the adults knows the answer to. Query – A question the adult does not know the answer to. Non-demanding Information – Facts and observation given to describe, advise and enlighten. Social – Statements said for social reasons. This includes teacher repetitions of what the child just said [and anything that does not fit into the other categories].
