2 Materials required Provided tomato slice -Extraction buffer -95-100% ice cold Ethyl Alcohol- Plastic knife -Watch glass-Nylon gauze-Funnel-Test tubes. Steps 1.Chop tomato slice into very fine pieces by your plastic knife. 2.Add 2ml of the extraction buffer to the chopped tomato and grind for 1 minute to a fine slurry in the watch glass. 3.Filter the previous cells solution into a test tube using nylon gauze and a funnel (to get fibers free solution). 4.Tilt your test tube containing the filtrate and slowly pour equal volume of 95-100% ice cold alcohol into the tube down the side of the test tube, 5.5-Observe at the layer between the tomato juice and alcohol you will see a whitish, "cotton like" substance (threads.
