So they could know Paul’s situation, Col. 4:7-9

By knowing of Paul’s condition and faithfulness
By the assurance contained in this epistle
God has accomplished His eternal purpose for human redemption in Christ – do not lose heart! 3:11-13, 20-21

Sympathetic, friendly and tenderhearted – able to comfort, 6:22

He had shown himself trustworthy, Acts 20: (2 Cor. 8:23)
Such faithfulness is a rare commodity (Phil. 2:20-23) 8
