Computer Interventions Computers themselves are very complex machines. But they are only a machine! Like a car, telephone or even a toaster. Car Controls Maintenance Safety Telephone Controls Maintenance Safety Toaster Controls Maintenance Safety We get along with these items quite well and no longer think of them as complex as they have been simplified. Computers are no different Computer Controls Maintenance Safety Copyright Computer Interventions® 2007-2014

Computer Interventions So where does this fear of computers come from? Actually the answer is pretty straight forward… The fear of the unknown! That is why education is so important!! Knowledge + Experience = Understanding - Fear This works for everything, not just computers. Copyright Computer Interventions® 2007-2014
4
Computer Interventions Of course we all make mistakes but we also learn from them. How many times have you nearly had an incident with your car? How many times have you dialed a wrong number? How many times have you burnt toast? Life itself is full of unknowns but we have learned (or not) to deal with change and variables to an outcome that we resolve in our own way. So… Learning never stops… ever! Get used to it. It will make you a more confident person all around. Copyright Computer Interventions® 2007-2014

Computer Interventions Lets get started What is a computer? It is a bunch of electronic parts designed to generate a result. Typical results include: Creating Solving Communications Information / Education That is why we call it IT (Information Technology) Copyright Computer Interventions® 2007-2014

Computer Interventions This flowchart is what I use to repair a computer. It may look complicated but in reality it simplifies what I do. Don’t try and read this Copyright Computer Interventions® 2007-2014 …Please!

Computer Interventions We break down individual aspects to generate overall understanding. We keep it simple! We are not trying to impress you but rather have you impress yourself. We have documented everything for your reference. *** You begin to understand that “Yes I can”. You gain confidence and interrelate concepts to other situations. You can learn with your kids rather than being baffled by their abilities. You can influence and help others with your factual knowledge. “The trick is to learning is how to learn” =[:-]“The trick is to learning is how to learn” =[:-] École Gist Copyright Computer Interventions® 2007-2014
