Creating Our Foldable You should have four sheets of paper.
Lay them on top of each other, but stagger them about an inch apart. Once they are staggered, fold them over to make 8 flaps. I will come around and help you staple them. If you are confused, just raise your hand and I will help you.

Republicanism Definition: A belief that government should be based on the consent of the people; people exercise their power by voting for political representatives.

Limited Government Definition: The principle that requires all U.S. citizens, including government leaders, to obey the law. If elected officials break any laws, they may be impeached or arrested.

Individual Rights Definition: A personal liberty and privilege guaranteed to U.S. citizens by the Bill of Rights.

Checks and Balances Definition: The ability of each branch of government to exercise checks, or controls, over the other branches.

Separation of Powers Definition: The division of basic government roles into branches.

Federalism Definition: A system of government where power is shared or balanced among the central (or federal) government and the states.

Popular Sovereignty Definition: A government in which all political power comes from the people; a system in which the residents vote to decide an issue.
