MYTHS ABOUT CREATIVITY Creativity is inborned; Development of creativity is possible only in specific areas; People can be divided into creative and non creative; Creative ideas are complicated and it is not easy to detect them; Creativity is not manageable, controlled or promoted; Creativity is a way of relaxation; Creativity is better nurtured and revealed at young age.

CONCEPT OF CREATIVITY ConceptsCharacteri stics of creative pupils Creativity as a personal treat Not afraid of mistakes, have courage to try out and act; open for experience, curious; don’t give up, look for possible problem solutions Creative thinkingHave own point of view towards different phenomena; use imagination for creating new things, phenomena, situations Creativity as capacity Able to complete tasks in different ways by different means; able to act in uncertainty, not standard situations; able to see value in creative ideas and promote them Creativity as a process Work consistently, make selection of creative ideas and ways of implementation; take time and put efforts in making creative solutions Creativity as a product / result Elaborate work, add new details; complete work till it’s end; products have original elements

SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR CREATIVITY Creativity is treated as a value; Atmosphere for free expressions; Pupils engagement; taking responsibility for their own learning; Investigation atmosphere – not looking for a “ right” answers ; Encouragement to take a risk ; Physical environment.

Creativity according village school principal : School is not saying “no”; School supports any ideas, even the crazy ones; Appropriate conditions for teachers work; Pupils can enter principals room at any time; Creative teacher is energetic, brave, not afraid to speak and say silly things; believes that bicycle is not fully invented; Absolute freedom.

WHAT IT HAS TO DO WITH CREATIVITY? Text/ film/narrative : inspires fantasy, imagination; encourages expression of various opinions, interpretations, calls for discussions; teaches to pay attention to details; motivates to read/look attentively; teaches to make connections, look for relationships; promotes reflective thinking.
