2 Our Mission Provide the early detection of logistics related problems that affect unit and materiel readiness; make logistical assessments in coordination with the supported commands to determine current status, historical trends, corrective and preventative measures for improving unit and command readiness; identification and correction of systemic problems. Furnish command information and assistance for force modernization, including displaced materiel; and plan for LAP support of mobilization, hostilities, and other contingencies, improving customer support, enhancing Warfighter readiness, while eliminating redundancy. Integrates, coordinates & synchronizes all resources provided by AMC and ASC. Single point of contact between the “Warfighter”, AMC and ASC 2

3 Logistics Assistance Program (LAP)
The Logistics Assistance Program provides Combatant Commanders and the “Warfighters” with logistics, technical, and administrative support. Governed by AR 700-4, AR and AMC-R Trains soldiers (11,900 soldiers/30,000 hrs annually) Saves Army money (cost avoidance~~$260M annually) Provides Technical Expertise: Readiness Supply Ammunition STAMIS Radios Sensors Aircraft (5 types) Avionics Automotive Armament Soldier, Chem-Bio Power & Envir. Test Facilities/TPS Ground Msls/UGVs 3

AMC’s sustainment for the Combat Commanders Mission: Identify / resolve / eliminate technical problems that affect combat readiness Horizontal and vertical Integrator For Acquisition, Logistics & Technology LSE / BLST ASC Readiness/Supply LARs LCMC/JMC Commodity LARs CDR/Chief (LTC/MAJ/CWO) 23 / 68 WHO: ,052 DAC LARS (ASC, AM-LCMC, CE-LCMC, TA-LCMC and JMC) WHAT: Ammunition/Equipment/Supply/Readiness experts WHERE: Serving in 15 countries; 37 states worldwide HOW: Mandatory Mobile / Emergency Essential along side the soldiers LAP personnel are trained and prepared to assist Combatant Commanders with seamless sustainment process in any and all contingency operations. As equipment experts on over 5000 pieces of Army equipment, LAP personnel are able to provide invaluable technical advice and hands-on training to the Warfighter. All LAP personnel are classified as Mandatory Mobile/Emergency Essential, meaning that they deploy as AMC’s civilian “Troops”, able to meet the needs of the Army’s Force Structure today and into the future. Their organization, called the Logistics Support Element or LSE and Brigade Logistics Support Team (BLAST). One of the most effective tools we bring to the battlefield is assured communications in the form of a multi media communication system. The MMCS provides secure & non-secure , internet, voice, and video conferencing down to the BCT level. In SWA these deployed AMC assets currently cover the entire spectrum of AMC capabilities from armament, tank and wheeled vehicle experts to scientist and technology advisors. New Missions; Supporting Modular Force, ARFORGEN and Reset Post, CAMPS, Stations (P/C/S), integration of Army’s Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (AL&T) Capability for the Combatant Commanders Pre-Modularity LAP primary functions Enhance weapon systems operational availability Provide logistical/technical assistance on site and reach back to industrial base Providing hands on training to soldiers at the unit Cost avoidance through on site technical (How To repair) logistics assistance Post Modularity LAP assist with these additional functions Synchronization and integration of directed missions in support of ARFORGEN Field level Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (AL&T) integration Leave Behind Equipment (LBE), mgmt & accountability RESET Phase, equipment repair, provisioning DOL work loading, equipment readiness & reset Fleet Management, TRADOC equipment readiness Pre-deployment Training Equipment Prepare to Deploy Orders (PTDO) – APS Non- Divisional Post, Camp, and Station requirements Theater Provided Equipment (TPE), mgmt & accountability AMC’s Single Face to the Warfighter 4
