1 Plant Life Scavenger Hunt and Report By: Steven C. R. Weaver ( MW)

2 Directions Five Groups need to: 1.Students will be divided into groups of five and assigned to a growing area: garden, greenhouse, grow kits, window sill garden, or baggie window garden. 2.Students will be exploring these areas to see what stages of the plants life cycle the plants are currently in, what needs, from the needs for plants growth, are being met at that area/what are missing, what advantages and disadvantages are there for the plant at that area. 3.Students will use the ipads to take photos of their assigned area to collect images and proof of different stages of the plants lifecycle and proof of the needs for the plants growth as well as any advantages or disadvantages at the area. 4.Once the students have collected their data they will write in their journals a synopsis of their findings to present to the class. 5.Each group will present their pictures with their corresponding information (for example they will show the picture of the baggy garden and how it has seeds and sprouts and then tell the class that it has seed and sprouts for the stages of the plant cycle but lacks the plant and flower stages…). As a class we will review each group’s pictures and analysis of their area discussing any mistakes, disagreements, and/or furthering of the information presented.

4 Keep in mind… Don’t forget to keep notes as you are taking pictures so you can make accurate and scientific notes Take turns. Start with number one and rotate jobs as: photographer, note taker, task manager, time keeper, “mother nature” watcher, job checker.

5 Time frame You will have approximately 10-15 minutes to collect all of your information. Then you will have 20-30 minutes to organize your information to present to your fellow scientists. Work quickly and diligently.
