3. Sa Boghe  The melodies of the boghe usually do not exceed the range of a fifth, starting from the first degree of a major scale.  The first degree is also, in most cases, the tonus finalis of the melodic phrases and the tonal center.

4. Sa Boghe The boghe sings the lyrics with a relatively natural voice. His melody is characterized in various cases by embellishments like voltas, appoggiatura, narrow vibrato.

SA BOGHE – model, interpretation, improvisation  The boghe is the leader of the group: he usually chooses the lyrics to sing, establishes the tonality of the song (puntu) and the typical one-tone modulation (artziadas and abassadas, respectively ‘raising’ and ‘lowering’) within the song.  His melodies are based on the local modas (village style). Nevertheless, every good boghe should give its personal interpretation of the traditional melodic model.
