4 ( 一 ) Status and Function Unit2 is concerned with the ancient and modern Olympic Games. The emphasis of this period is laid on developing students ’ listening and speaking abilities. They play an important part in learning English. The purpose of Listening on P15 is to finish the story of Atlanta and encourage students to learn more Ancient stories. Speaking is to encourage students to talk about their favorite sports. ( 二 )Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge Objective 2. Ability Objective 3. Moral Objective 4.Strategy Objective 5.Culture awareness

5 ( 三 ).Teaching key and difficult points 1.The key point is to get students to learn more about the Olympic Games and develop the students’ listening and speaking abilities. 2.The difficult point is how to help students organize their language and cultivate their confidence in speaking English. ( 四 )Teaching Aids a multimedia computer a blackboard

6 My class is made up of 55 students, most of whom are interested in different kinds of sports. I believe that we will cooperate well. However, students are still poor in learning English, especially they are afraid to speak English in public. So I will try my best to guide and encourage the students to speak English loudly in class.

7 Teaching methods 1. Communicative teaching method 2.Audio-visual teaching method 3.Task-based teaching method. Learning ways The students are requested to study English creatively and independently. So the Cooperative Learning method can make the tasks and activities finished more easily.
