The first computer was made by Germany’s Konrad Zuse in his living room around 1936-1938. the first digital computer was made and started being developed in 1937 by Professor John Vincent Atanasoff, but improved many times threw the years.

Retired Navy Admiral Grace Hopper, a pioneer in the early days of computers, had a mainframe computer that was not working properly. She opened it up in the back and found a moth that had died and was touching two connections shorting them out. She pulled out the moth and stated in the official Navy Log Book that the computer had been debugged and was working fine. She taped the moth to the Log book. Since then the term was used when troubleshooting hardware/software computers.

The development of what we now call the internet started in 1957. When the Soviet Union launched Sputnik 1, the first satellite, beating the United States into space.

An important step in history of computers, was first created by a man named Charles Babbage, a English mathematician, who designed a Analytical engine. The Analytical engine is not only a computer but a Calculator also. Babbage worked on the design until his death which was in 1871, and data was inputted using punch card then Babbage’s computer would would solve the problem.

Father of modern automatic computation Chose the punch card as the basis for storing and processing information. He also built the first punched-card tabulating and sorting machines as well as the first key punch.

Known as the Electrical Numerical Integrator and Calculator, the American military sponsored their research; the army needed a computer for calculating artillery- firing tables, the settings used for different weapons under varied conditions for target accuracy. In 1946, John Mauchly and John Presper Eckert developed the ENIAC.

In computing, a program is a specific set of order operations for a computer to perform. When you create a program, you write it using some kind of computer language. A computer requires program to function. Also computer programs may be categorized along functional lines.

The transistor is an influential invention that changed the course of history for computers. The first generation of computers used vacuum tubes. The second generation of computers used transistors. The third generation of computers used integrated circuits. But the reason vacuum tubes are not useful anymore is because they can get cracks and that allows air into the tube and destroys. On the other hand transistors do not do this.

In 1975 Ed Roberts, the father of microcomputers designed the microcomputer. A microcomputer is a small desktop, typically designed to be used by one person at a time, although individual computers can still be linked in a network so that users can share data and programs.

“Binary” simply means consisting of or involving two. Bit on the other hand is the amount of information that can be stored by a digital device. In computing, a bit can be described as a variable or computed quantity that can have only two possible values. Bytes is the smallest unit of storage that can be accessed in a computer’s memory either in RAM or ROM. It holds exactly 8 bits.
