2. 2 nd Beatitude- Happy are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. 1. They who mourn are people who suffer. 2. Things that make us suffer: - someone in our family becomes sick - lost a pet 3. Jesus taught us what God will bring good from suffering. 4. Jesus suffered to save us from sin.

3. 5. There is suffering in our world because of sin. 6. Everyone has pain and suffering sometime. We are God’s sorrowing people if we accept our pain and suffering like Jesus. 7. Comfort- means to make someone feel better. 8. We comfort people who are suffering with kindness, prayers, and sacrifices.

4. Veronica 1. Veronica felt sorry for Jesus when she saw him carrying the cross and helped him. 2. She wiped the face of Jesus with her veil. 3. Veronica gave Jesus comfort. Jesus rewarded Veronica by leaving a picture of his face on the veil. 4. We can comfort people who are suffering with kindness, prayers, and sacrifices.
