8 Beatitudes Background
In Matthew & Luke Part of the Sermon on the Mount Beatitude means “Blessedness” Positive counterpoint to the negative Ten Commandments Jesus calls these traits “Blessed” because those who have them are able to stay focused on the eternal reward of Heaven instead of the temporary rewards of this world. Have you ever seen something good come out of something bad?

8 Beatitudes Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land. Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. They are humble They accept their flaws Seek God’s help They listen They apologize They change

Blessed are the meek Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land. They are obedient to God They do what they are expected to Always give their best Follow Jesus’ example

Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted. They are sorrowful about their sins & the sins of others They make amends & encourage others to do the same

Blessed are they that hunger & thirst after justice
Blessed are they that hunger & thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill. They know when something is unfair & always stand up against injustice, no matter what the cost

8 Beatitudes Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God. They do things purely out of love for others They trust others They want the best for everyone

Blessed are the peacemakers
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. They solve problems w/understanding & respect They unite people & resolve conflicts

Blessed are they that suffer persecution
Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Those who suffer because they care for others Help the needy Admonish sinners

You will be creating 8 memes for each of the 8 Beatitudes You will create this in Google Presentations Your presentation will consist of 8 slides You will find 8 pictures that are from either a movie or T.V. show to represent each beatitude & then write the beatitude on the slide
