The Meaning of Repentance The Definition of Repentance = change of mind; turn The Distinctions in Repentance – It is not sorrow. Acts 2:37-38 Jewish people called upon to change their minds about who Jesus really is. 2 Cor 7:9-10 Sorrow may or may not lead to repentance; e.g. Judas, Matt 27:3-5 Rom 2:4 Sorrow is not essential. “The sinner is not to seek sorrow but the Savior.” – It is not forsaking sin.
