3 WHY THIS REVELATION?  It’s April 1829, and Oliver Cowdery is scribing for Joseph as he translates from the plates.  They “had a difference of opinion … about the account of John the Apostle, mentioned in the New Testament …, whether he died, or whether he continued [to live].”  We don’t know who thought that he was still alive and who thought he was dead.  The specific verses disagreed over were John 21:20-23.  They decide to ask the Lord.  What was the answer? See D&C 7:1-3
