Lev. 2:1 A. THE MEAL OFFERING 1. The Definition. (Heb. minchah = an offering; a GIFT offering. Fr. root = to give.) a. A better Translation: an oblation of a meat offering (korban minchah) b. Its Distinction: A vegetable offering ct. an animal offering. c. Its Application: It refers to a gift given by an inferior to a superior. Gen.32:18-21 They be thy servant Jacob's; it is a present sent unto my lord Esau. d. Its Declaration: i. As a Sacrifice it was something Surrendered to God; it was man’s Greatest value in living. ii. It was a Statement that all his good Works were Wrought in God and were due to Him

The Sweet-Savour Offering Lev. 2:8-10 8 And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the LORD: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar. 9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. 10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.

T HE M EMORIAL O FFERING.Lev. 2:2, 9 The Portion of each of the Minchah burnt on the Altar was the Memorial: 2: 9, 16; 5:12; 6:15. the priest shall take from the meat offering a memor ial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar Cf. I Cor. 11:24, 25 The Priests Participated in eating the remnant, a thing most holy, i.e. literally a holy of holies. 2:3, 10 that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron 's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerin gs of the LORD made by fire Cf. As often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till He come.
