God’s Fellowship
3
Heb 1 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory & the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven. NIV
4
26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion… 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male & female He created them. 1) God is a God of Fellowship- Genesis 1
5
28 Then God blessed them, & God said to them, "Be fruitful & multiply; fill the earth & subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, & over every living thing that moves on the earth." 1) God is a God of Fellowship- Genesis 1

29 And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, & every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 1) God is a God of Fellowship- Genesis 1

God creates man “in Our image” to have a special kind of fellowship with Him, unlike anything else that He created. God creates a special place for Adam, to provide for him & fellowship with Him.
8
Even before Eden, God had in His plan a place for His people to be with Him… Matt 25 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, & He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
9
Even before Eden, God had in His plan a place for His people to be with Him… Matt 25 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
10
Even before Eden, God had in His plan a place for His people to be with Him… Matt 25 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
11
Do I believe that God desires fellowship and closeness with me?
12
1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 2) Jesus shows us God’s passion for togetherness- John 14
13
3 And if I go & prepare a place for you, I will come again & receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 2) Jesus shows us God’s passion for togetherness- John 14
14
Throughout His life Jesus shows God’s desire to embrace & be with people- from calling His 12 disciples, to feeding the 5,000, to His promises of eternity with God.
15
John 14 21 Whoever has my commands & obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, & I too will love him & show myself to him." 22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us & not to the world?" NIV
16
John 14 23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, & we will come to him & make our home with him. NIV
17
God is His holiness seems more eager to dwell with & look favorably upon the common man than does the common man.
18
Am I looking forward to Jesus fulfilling His promises of Heaven?
19
Revelation 21 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
20
Revelation 21 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
