Examples of Repetition: I Had No Place To Go By: Zena S It was raining, and I had no place to go My mom said I was just another mouth to feed My dad was too abusive. I went to my grandma, she said she had no more money And the rest thought I was nothing. It was raining and I had place to go I wore the same clothes from Monday While you shopped, at Abercrombie, Delila’s, and what not My system was just as good; it called reuse until its falls It was raining, and I had no place to go I hoped from ditch to ditch, While you all slept in your soft, warm beds, with blankets and all My place was just as good, wet, muddy, and always cold I barely got any sleep, with conditions like that It was raining, and I had no place to go I was lucky if I got anything to eat The closest I got was a half eaten hotdog that I found that in the trash While you were at home eating pancakes, spaghetti, and ice cream, getting your nutrition and protein While I was sitting there getting thinner, sicker, and weaker This poet repeats the line “it was raining and I had no place to go”. This emphasizes to the reader that she really had no place to go. Reading from the Poet

Examples of Repetition Words By: Isabella Z Words, words, words always pass through my eyes Am I a good reader, am I a good listener, what am I Words, words, words I cannot seem to understand There is nothing wrong with me because that is who I am Whenever I can I try to figure out those words which are foreign to me But somehow I just do not recognize their definition or what they mean Life is my words Life is what brings me to misunderstandings And confusion always seems to occur No matter the person, place, or thing No one knows what my life will bring Words, words, words I do not know how to pronounce Because it feels like the way the word is supposed to be said sounds wrong Wrong, Wrong, Wrong why does every sentence made up of beautiful words have to be wrong What is the true meaning of each word, I don’t think there is an answer Nor will there ever be an answer but I will change the way my words are said And maybe, just maybe the definition will mean much more. This poet repeats the line “words, words, words”. This emphasizes the title and meaning of the poem. Reading from the Poet
