22 Significant Safety Achievements- 11/14 Started set-up of Work Planning and Control (WPC) projects/activities for ESDR. Several training classes for project leads were held. The chemical container/sample clean-out of the B62 (Kerr) lab areas continues. We have made good progress. Follow-up was provided for electrical equipment issues (coin cell heaters) identified in 62-337. I have participated in review of the draft LBNL Electrical Safety Manual (ESM). Several ETA “Safety Alerts” were issued: –Electric Space Heater Safety –Electrical Equipment Inspection Program Requirements –WPC Activity Manager Implementation I completed Lock-out/Tag Out “Responsible Individual” recertification training.

23 Short Term Safety Outlook- 12/14 Continue the set-up of the Work Planning and Control (WPC) “projects” and “activities” framework for ETA. We are focusing on completion of ESDR activities first. Complete the management electrical safety walkthroughs on 12/8/14. Follow-up on electrical equipment issues identified from ETA electrical safety management walkthroughs. Assist with the set-up for new lab areas 70-143, 70-291/293 and B33 JCESR. Continue old chemical/sample clean-outs in 62-220, 246, 308, 310 and 62-105 closet. Continue to address issues identified by the fire marshal in ETA lab areas. Start the Glove Box Operation Self-Assessment project. Complete a 3-day NFPA 70E electrical safety training course.
