23. Project Update Construction began April 2012 City awarded contract in early March 2012. UA team working closely with City to develop intergovernmental agreements for construction, real estate, operations & maintenance. First and Second Streets have become 2-way streets (see map) Access will be maintained as much as possible to key campus areas Park Ave. from 2 nd to University closed November 12 th for several months

Construction Overview Old Pueblo Trackworks selected as contractor 475 days of construction – complete summer 2013 Multiple crews working multiple locations Underground utility work and overhead & track installation Maintain business and pedestrian access Olive and Highland underpasses will remain open, Warren underpass will be closed until February 2013. Have worked closely with stakeholders along route.

One-Way to Two-Way Street Conversions First Street to be converted to two-way traffic during construction on Second Street and kept two-way to alleviate traffic congestion Entire length of Second Street from Campbell Ave. to Mountain Ave. will become two-way to increase efficiency, especially for Second St. Garage traffic. No left turn into garage going west on 2 nd Street. Benefits include: Better wayfinding & orientation; Traffic-calming effect; Safer for pedestrians & bicyclists; and, Improve access & egress for garage and other properties.
