2 STEWARDSHIP What is it? – –Established as long as the Church - found in the Old Testament – –Commitment – –Sacrifice – –Membership with Christ’s Body – –Between you and God – –Necessary for the growth of our parish – –Necessary for individual Salvation – –Needed for the privilege of voting at the Assembly meeting

3 STEWARDSHIP What it is not! – –Membership – –Fundraising – –A program – –Temporary – –A new concept – –Created by the parish council

4 STEWARDSHIP MUST BE Spiritually based A balance of Time, Talents and Treasure

5 TO GROW YOUR GARDEN, THREE THINGS ARE NEEDED…

6 SUN-a self-luminous heavenly body; star Time   Volunteer   Serve the Church   Lend a hand   Lead a project   Set an example

7 WATER-to sprinkle, moisten, or drench Talents   What unique qualities do you have that can contribute to the Church’s needs?   Electrician   Carpenter   Gardener   Cook   Accountant   Painter

8 FERTILIZE-to make fertile; enrich; to make productive. Treasures   With God’s guidance, determine what you can do   We are expected to be Good Stewards with what God has given us   Make your commitment TODAY!   A monthly commitment helps the Church budget for it’s expenses

9 2012 STEWARDSHIP 1 Mark 12:41-43 The Widow's Offering Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small coins, worth only a few cents. Calling His disciples to Him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.“ Our Stewardship focus for 2012 - Equal Sacrifice, not Equal Giving!
