Why people don’t pray? 1. Not sure how to pray 2. Distracted while trying to pray 3. Think requests are too small for God 4. Not sure prayer will really make a difference

Working definition Prayer is simply communicating with God Hebrews 4:16 [We can] “…come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (NKJV)

Working definition Prayer is simply communicating with God Psalms 5:1-3 L ORD, listen to my words. Pay attention when I sigh. My King and my God, listen to me when I cry for help. I pray to you. L ORD, in the morning you hear my voice. In the morning I pray to you. I wait for you in hope. Other English translations use: ‘cry’ – ‘meditation’ – ‘groan’ – ‘sadness’ – ‘lament’ Hebrew word [ hâgı̂yg ] means: To murmur or ponder in pleasure or anger

He said: ‘In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, “Grant me justice against my adversary.” ‘For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, “Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!”’And the Lord said, ‘Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.
