History of M & E at MEHRD Solomon Islands ESIRP & SWAp ESIRP started in 2003 and SWAp was established to support ESIRP ESIRP Phase I – 2004 – 2006 (ESP) ESIRP Phase II 2007 – 2009 (NEAP) ESF 2009 - 2015 Partnership, EU, NZAid and SIG Smaller framework to implement the PAF,AJR and ESCC monitoring tools to assess progress.

History of M & E at MEHRD Solomon Islands Pre-tension to 2003: Various different EMIS were used at different times. Annual data collection via school survey forms, but data were not always inputted and analyzed. 2004 – Present: The SIEMIS years. During this time SIEMIS has been expanded and refined to suit wide range of monitoring, evaluation and requirements.

The Way Forward SIEMIS project now in final transition phase This will involve strengthening and handover in key areas such as: 1.Ministry wide training in how to use the system, AND how to use the information the system produces 2.Final joint review of survey forms (including PAF and SWAp initiatives) 3.Incorporation of TVET, Teachers Master File and Tertiary Sectors

The Way Forward II 4.Final system enhancements 5.Training for PEOs (Provincial Education Officers) with a view to establishment a bigger role for them in the process. (connecting network to provinces) 6.Strengthening monitoring arrangements with appointment of an M & E officer and coordinating TWG
