The colors each have a different meaning, white means peace and honesty and red means hardiness, bravery, strength, and valor. The largest Canadian flag ever made was 38 meters by 76 meters. 80 people were needed to carry it, and it was worth $15 000 dollars!!! So far this year, the government has bought over 33 000 flags! If you want a flag that has been on the Peace Tower, you have to wait 10 years to receive it. The flag that is on the top of the Peace Tower is up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is changed every day by a Parliament Hill employee. See more… See more…

10 Tradition One tradition is every morning when the employee changes the flag, the national anthem will play and everyone stops what they’re doing to stand straight with their hands at their sides, here are the lyrics: l "O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North, strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, We stand on guard for thee. 16 History of the Moroccan Flag The use of the flag in Morocco as a symbol of the state dates way back to the Almoravide dynasty (1062-1125 ad). Prior to this time, white silk banners were often carried in battle, sometimes with Koranic inscriptions written on them. The Almoravides institutionalized this practice. They gave one banner to every unit of 100 soldiers. The two following dynasties (the Merinides and the Saadiens) continued the use of the White flag as the symbol of the State. The Alaouites (beginning in the 17th Century), which are the ruling dynasties, were the first to introduce the red flag. It was raised every morning and lowered every evening on the fortresses at Rabat and Sale. The green Sulayman star on the flag was introduced in 1912.

17 Etiquett of the Flag Due care and consideration must be taken to ensure that the Moroccan flag is always flown the correct way up A tattered or faded flag of Moroccan should be removed and replaced with a new flag The Moroccan flag should never be allowed to drag along the ground The National flag of Moroccan should never be flown above another national flag on the same staff as this would suggest superiority, or conversely, inferiority of one flag, or Nation, over another
