Background to the GYTS WHO & CDC, est. 1998 Global Tobacco Surveillance System: ‘ to strengthen global tobacco control surveillance systems to monitor the global tobacco epidemic and advance research to promote effective tobacco control programs'

Framework Convention on Tobacco Control Globally, 142 countries have ratified 100% (27 of 27) in Western Pacific Region Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Japan, Kiribati, Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Mongolia, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Viet Nam
