Furlough Mandatory 3 day furlough during last week of December Furlough does NOT impact undergrads, grad students, P&A, faculty or professionals in training (post-doc) How pay cut will be implemented has not been determined Pay will be reduced by 1.15% for faculty and P&A. This percentage will be taken out of each paycheck in a consistent manner. The University will be closed from December 24, 2010 until January 2, 2011. No research or materials (plants, animals, etc.) will be jeopardized during the closure. Faculty and P&A can take up to 10 voluntary furlough days, staff can take up to 7 days. 27 th Pay Period Will not impact B based appointments. June 30 th paycheck will be administered on July 1, 2010 There will be 27 paychecks for FY11 instead of 26 for A based employees. 9 over 12 employees who normally receive 26 paychecks will receive 27 paychecks in the 2010-11 fiscal year. The amount of pay will not change, just the distribution. RECESS Eligibility Any non-represented faculty or staff working over 75% time. Plan Details Allow employees to reduce their work effort to as low as 50%, while still receiving the same University contribution toward medical and dental benefits Application form needs to be filled out for each fiscal year, but appointment reduction does not need to last the entire fiscal year. Personal Options for Faculty ProgramEligibilityDetails 2 Year Transitions Program Tenured faculty 63 and older Two year phased retirement with modest professional development funds. Healthcare savings account after termination. Phased Retirement Tenured faculty 52 and older One to five year phased retirement with at least 25% reduction. Minimum two years continued health benefits. Terminal Agreement Tenured faculty 52 and older with 10 years of service One year of salary paid in lump sum at termination. Two years continued health benefits. RECESS 75% (or greater) appointment Temporary program. Can reduce appointment to 50% and still maintain health coverage. Currently offered through FY2012. Tenure track faculty need to discuss impact on tenure clock. Unpaid Personal Leave All faculty Unpaid time away from work for personal reasons for a specific time period up to 12 months.
