On Your Desk: Scavenger Hunt Paragraph Binder Paper Bronte Précis

Scavenger Hunt Here we go. In groups of 3-4 (you choose): 1.Select a character from HF. This can be a major or a minor character. 2.Write character’s name on binder paper. (You need 1 binder paper per group – add all names) 3.Write a list of 5-10 bullet points of everything you know about this character. Think about characteristics. How does he/she perceive the world, himself, others? How do others perceive him/her? Once you have your list: 1.Go out and about campus. 2.Find something which represents your character. Try not to too obvious with object. Think DEEP. 3.If what you find isn’t something you can physically take back to class; take a picture.

Poem Project Write the following information on your binder paper. 1.Memorize a poem from the Romantic Era. – Written by an American Romantic writer. – At least 8 lines long. – You can split up the poem between 2/3 other classmates. – You choose the poet and poem. – Have approved by me! – Yes, you will perform this to the class. – No duplicate poems; No Bronte; 2.Write a précis on the poem you selected. – MLA format – If you’re working in a pair/group: Each person needs to write his/her own précis. 3.Create a visual representation of the poem. – How could you visually show the class what the poem is about? – No words. – Think of this as a visual précis. – A pair/group can work on this together.
