Small Business Assistance Program Deliberately designed as a separate non-regulatory office within the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, the mission of the Small Business Assistance Program is to help Montana businesses achieve compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.

3. How is the SBAP Structured? Located within the Business and Community Assistance Program of the Montana DEQ. Non-regulatory! Although housed within the DEQ, we DO NOT share project specifics with other departments. Additionally, those seeking assistance may remain anonymous when using the toll-free hotline. 5. Recycling & Market Development The mission of the Recycling and Market Development Program is to both promote the reduction, reuse, recycling and composting of wastes and to work to expand the business markets and opportunities to productively use these wastes.

6. Recycling & Market Development As outlined in the Montana Integrated Waste Management Act of 1991, we work to conserve resources and reduce the toxicity and amount of materials that go into Montana landfills.

7. Recycling & Market Development Functions Tracking of waste reduction and recycling activities across the State of Montana Acting as a central contact regarding these activities, and Providing technical assistance to businesses, industry, communities, and individuals.

8. Recycling & Market Development Functions continued… Develop and distribute publications detailing recycling opportunities throughout Montana. Establish partnerships with other governmental agencies businesses, and community members to promote innovative waste management solutions.

9. Business and Community Assistance Program The Recycling and Market Development Program and the Small Business Assistance Program work together on the common theme of finding ways to prevent pollution before it occurs.
