4 The scene is the sacred plain of Kuruksetra. The setting is a battlefield. The circumstances is war.

5 640 million soldiers on both sides. Krishna is using Arjuna as an instrument to speak the Bhagavad- Gita

6 Arjuna is dejected and lamenting. Thus this chapter is entitled: Lamenting the Consequence of War.

7 Dhratarastra is blind materially and spiritually.

8 Sanajaya The disciple of Vyasa is able to see the batlefield live from Hastinapura.
