HOW IT CAME TO BE Born: Hampstead Garden Suburb, London, England. Moved to the united states in April 1939. At the age of 7. Reason- world war II had started.

EARLY CHILDHOOD My father open up a art store just like in London, and did very well. Upon arriving here in the U.S. my mother got her into acting. I was seen in “There's One Born Every Minute” (1942), released when she was ten.

RELIGION My first religion was, Christian Science (1932–59). -A system of religious thought and practice derived from the writings of Mary Baker Eddy and the Bible. Then later on in life I converted to, Judaism (1959–2011). -A monotheistic religion originating in the Hebrew Bible.

ROMANCES My first marriage was Conrad "Nicky" Hilton (May 6, 1950 – January 29, 1951) My second husband Michael Wilding (February 21, 1952 – January 26, 1957): he was 20 years older than me. One of the loves or my life Michael Todd (February 2, 1957 – March 22, 1958) He passed away, the only marriage I didn’t get a divorce.

THE LOVE CONTINUES My 4 th husband Eddie Fisher (May 12, 1959 – March 6, 1964): he was one of Todds best friends, My 5 th husband Richard Burton (March 15, 1964 – June 26, 1974): I remarried Richard Burton (October 10, 1975 – July 29, 1976): Sixteen months after divorcing. My 6 th husband John Warner (December 4, 1976 – November 7, 1982): And last but not lest my 7 th and final marriage Larry Fortensky (October 6, 1991 – October 31, 1996):

ACTIVISM I was a devoted consistent and generous humanitarian time, helping to raise more than $270 million for the cause. I was cofounder of the American Foundation for AIDS Research. I was honored with a special Academy Award, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, in 1992 for my HIV/AIDS humanitarian work.

JEWISH CAUSES After my conversion to Judaism, I worked for Jewish causes throughout my life. I helped to raise money for organizations such as the Jewish National Fund. In 1962, I was kept from entering Egypt to complete Cleopatra, because of converting.

AWARDS AND HONORS I received the Jean Herscholt Humanitarian Academy Award. In 1994, a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs, California, Walk of Stars was dedicated to me. I was honored by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) with the Life Achievement Award.

ILLNESSES AND DEATH I struggled with health problems much of my life. At 5'4", I constantly gained and lost significant amounts of weight, reaching both 119 pounds and 180 pounds in the 1980s. On February 2011, new symptoms related to heart failure caused me to be admitted into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for treatment,[71] where I remained until my death at age 79 on March 23, 2011, surrounded by my four children.
