ELECTRONICS Chris Wlodychak—Scott Thiesen ORGANIZES AND WIRES ALL OF THE ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS FOR THE ROBOT; CREATES ELECTRONICS BOARD; BUILDS DRIVER'S STATION; SETS UP PNEUMATIC SYSTEM; HELPS INTEGRATE PNEUMATIC PISTONS INTO THE MECHANISM

CHASSIS Daniel Spiwak DESIGNS AND BUILDS THE BASE FRAME AND THE TRANSMISSION OF THE ROBOT

PROGRAMMING Lizzy Board CREATES THE CODE THAT CONTROLS THE ROBOT; CODE IS WRITTEN IN LABVIEW; PROGRAMS AUTONOMOUS MODE

Mock Arena James Stephens Mock Arena designs and builds the practice arena to test the robot. Also the Mock Arena team works on pit design and other team related projects.

Scouting Connor Loftus—Jack Stonerock Scouting keeps track of the performance of other robots at competition so that during alliance selection we know what teams to pick.

Treasurer Collects and compiles club dues, fundraising forms, and parent volunteer forms. Compiles the bill of materials at the end of the season --Dues $75 --Fundraising letter Packets --Parent Volunteer Forms Due on October 24 th, NEXT FRIDAY

Club Operating Costs It takes about $35,000 a year to operate the club Registration costs for competition alone costs almost $9,000 If we attend the FIRST Championship it costs an estimated extra $25,000, Normally the club has reserve funds for competition, however we spent those reserves in 2013

Fundraising Letters All students must send 10 fundraising letters ● Send only to family and friends – NO COMPANIES ● Letter packets distributed this evening Includes letters, envelopes and instructions ● ● Students supply the stamps (20) assemble the letters and seal them provide “To” and “From” addresses ● ● ● Must be returned to Robotics Inbox in Ms. Diglisics roombyby10/24 ● Do not mail the letters – the Club will mail them for you ●

Parent Volunteers Parent volunteers are critical to the success of the club Volunteers needed: ● ● Meal servers Shoppers Trip planners Trip chaperones End-of-year banquet coordinators ● ● ● ● ● Volunteer appreciation ● Volunteer forms on are the Resource page of the club's website, they are due on 10/24 ●

Team Vision and Goals Mechanism Vision -Have a Week to spare for testing of the robot. Goals -All of the freshmen are completely engaged in the robot build -Keep the room clean and put everything away correctly Scouting Vision -Devise more efficient way to scout with pit integration Goals -Build scouting station Programming Vision -Make sure everyone understand the code Goals -Everyone writes code Electronics Vision -Build a Modular electronics board - Have a defined place for electronics on the chassis Goals -Teach people to use the Robot Rio -Get the new motor controllers Chassis Vision -Have everybody contribute to the Chassis Goals -Teach everybody in chassis to use the mill Club-wide Vision -Have drivers with a large amount of practice before competition. -Devise a play style before we start building. -Go to nationals. -Build a respected safety program Goals -Have a head and vice president of each group

Regional Competitions Richmond (3/18-3/21) (tentative) Location – Richmond, Virginia Leave Wed evening and return Sat evening George Mason (3/25-3-28) Location – George Mason University, Virginia Pit crew attends Thursday and Friday, everyone attends Saturday. Due to the large costs that are associated with attending competitions the club will be using a system this year in which students will earn points towards the club paying for the members travel/hotel expenses for competition. Points will be based on the total number of meetings that a member attends

Build Meetings 5:15 – 8:30 pm Every day during the build season 9:00 – 2:00 pm Saturday, if necessary (towards end of season) Dinner is served from 5:15 – 5:45 during each meeting Meetings held in Ms. Diglisic’s room (Room 142) Meetings held at Vienna Volunteer Fire Department during Presidents Weekend (2/14 – 2/16)
