Falling Action Major events after the conflict Actions leading to the end of the story

Point of View The angle from which a story is told

Dialogue When two or more characters have a conversation in a story

Theme The message about life or human nature that is “hidden” in the story

CHARACTERS PROTAGONIST ANTAGONIST ROUND DYNAMIC FLAT STATIC

PROTAGONIST Main Character; usually the “good guy” but not always

ANTAGONIST The character in conflict with the protagonist; usually the bad guy

Round Character They can recognize, change and adapt to situations. They are complex.

Dynamic A character who changes (develops) during the story, usually a result of resolving a central conflict or facing a major crisis

FLAT A character with one personality. Usually can be summed up in one sentence

Static A character who undergoes little or no inner change; a character who does not grow or develop.
