2 Activity Work with a partner (NEAR YOU) Each of you use the vocabulary to take turns describing your house. – Partner 1: “Cuantos _____ tienes en tu casa?” – Partner 2: “Tengo # ______ en mi casa. – Partner 1: “es grande o pequeno?” – Partner 2: “es ______” Make sure each asks about EACH ROOM !

3 Los Quehaceres - the Chores Lava los platos – Wash the dishes Pone la mesa – Set the table Quita la mesa – Clear the table Sacude los muebles – Dust the furniture (saw-sue-day) Hace la cama – Make the bed Pasa la aspiradora – Vacuum Barre – Sweep Limpia (el bano) – Clean Tropea (el piso) – Mop the floor Corta el cesped – Mow the lawn/cut the grass

4 Work with a partner Work with your parnter – Give commands to your partner – Partner repeat the word and do the ACTION! Partner one: “trapea el piso” Partner two: “trapea el piso” and then pretend to sweep the floor You will have 3 minutes per partner (6 minutes total to practice)

5 Whole Class Practice One student gives commands (may use notes or can go back to the chores page) The entire class repeats the words and does the actions Leader has 2 minutes then switch to a new leader Go three rounds!

6 Partner Practice Partner 1: “Que quehaceres haces en el sotano? » What chores do you do in the basement? Partner 2: “paso la aspiradora, sacudo…. » “I vacuum, I dust… (be sure to change the verb to the “yo” form … Partner 1 quizzes partner 2 for 2 minutes Partner 2 quizzes partner 1 for 2 minutes

8 Family Partner Practice Partner 1: “tienes hermano? Cuantos? Partner 2: “si/no tengo hermano? Tengo #.” Partner 1: “Como se llama tu ______” Partner 2: “Se llama(n) _______” You have 2 minutes for partner one and 2 minutes for partner 2. (4 minutes total)

9 Written Practice Write a paragraph EN ESPANOL describing your house (es it big, small, how many rooms, does it have a basement, what color, etc and what chores you and others do around the house)
