Soldat ► Soldat (meaning "soldier" in German, Russian, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and French) is a Polish 2D multiplayer game for Windows. It is a side-scroller inspired by Liero and Scorched Earth, combined with elements from Counter- Strike and Worms. The game is shareware. Registration unlocks extra aesthetic options, such as colored jet flames and custom interfaces. The latest version, 1.5.0, also includes a minimap and changeable screen resolution for registered users.

Soldat version history ► 1.0.5b (released August 23, 2002) is considered the first major version of the games, though several betas and minor versions were available in the months preceding its release. ► Since then, the game has gone through many changes and additions. Weapon balance is often a main focus of new releases. The significant release changes were "startup" modifications in the M82A1 Barrett, M72 LAW, and Combat Knife, as well as minor bugs with flags and maps. ► 1.4.2 added many major features. These included a completely new lobby system to replace the aged and unreliable original system (see the forums for problems), an option (registered only) to scale the resolution interface for a cleaner view, a minimap (registered only), BattlEye - an anti-cheat system, and many bugfixes. ► 1.5.0 is the current version of Soldat. In addition to a long list of bug fixes, major new features in this version include lobby chat, in game radio commands, TeamSpeak2 integration, and animated GIF scenery

Counter Strike ► Counter-Strike (also known as Half-Life: Counter- Strike, Counter-Strike 1.6, or simply CS) is a tactical first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation which originated from a Half-Life modification by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess "Cliffe" Cliffe. The game has been expanded into a series since its original release, which currently includes Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike: Anthology and Counter- Strike on Xbox. Counter-Strike pits a team of counter- terrorists against a team of terrorists in a series of rounds. Each round is won by either completing the mission objective or eliminating the opposing force. ► The game is currently the most played Half-Life modification in terms of players, according to GameSpy

Cheating 1 ► Counter Strike has been a prime target for exploitation by cheaters since its release. In-game, cheating is often referred to as "hacking" in reference to programs or "hacks" executed by the user. ► Wallhacks, which allow the player to see through walls. These work by displaying objects that are normally obscured or by replacing opaque game textures with translucent ones. As the engine only renders the immediate area around the player, this does not allow a player to see the entire level at once. ► Speedhacks, which give the player increased foot speed. These work by sending false synchronization data to the server. ► Recoil hack, which makes other players' guns uncontrollable with recoil. ► No spread is used to remove the random deviation normally experienced when the player shoots.

Cheating 2 ► Aimbots, which helps the player aim at enemies. These work by automatically moving the player's crosshair onto an enemy. ► ESP, which shows textual information about the enemy; such as health, name and distance; also information about weapons lying around the map, which could be missed without the hack. Most ESP cheats show info through walls. ► Barrel hack, whereby the enemy's gaze is depicted as a visible line. ► Anti-flash and anti-smoke, which remove the effects of the flashbang and smoke grenade. Its implementation is branched from the wall hack.
