BrunswickColumbus County Colonists blocked a ship carrying a load of stamps from landing. 3. New BernCraven County Colonial & State Capital of NC from 1746 to 1792 was New Bern. A group of New Bern Citizens headed to the governor’s palace and carried off the cannons in the palace yard.
