What is UDIA? The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) is a national, not-for- profit membership organisation, established in 1972. UDIA (Qld) is the State’s largest professional organisation that represents and furthers the interests and integrity of the property development industry in Queensland. UDIA (Qld) has 12 regional branches in addition to the State office in Brisbane: Gold Coast Sunshine Coast Ipswich Toowoomba Moreton Bay Cairns Gladstone Fraser Coast Bundaberg Townsville Mackay/Whitsunday Rockhampton

Who’s involved? Over 1,000 corporate members and 3,000 affiliated individual members in Queensland. Our members include developers, financiers, lawyers, accountants, architects, planners, engineers, project marketers, professional consultants, government representatives and full-time students. Our members development activities include: Master-planned communities Urban renewal Multi-level development Land subdivision Medium density development Attached and detached housing Sustainable development Seniors’ living Commercial development Retail Development Industrial development Hotels and resorts Golf course development

How we can help Industry representation – engagement with government to achieve positive outcomes for the industry Information - keeping members informed on the latest industry practice, legislative and policy issues, research and data Quarterly Industry Report Urban Developer Support – practical advice and support on industry issues Contacts & Networking – position yourself in the industry, make new contacts and build relationships with industry peers Over 50 events per year in Brisbane Industry Recognition - annual awards celebrating the best of the best in the industry Professional Development - conferences, seminars and skill based events featuring key experts and industry leaders and a mentoring programme for younger members of the industry

Forum to encourage the involvement of women within the industry. Mentoring programme. Regular functions each year providing networking opportunities with industry peers. Involved in research and keeping members up to date. Recognises successful women within the industry through the annual Women In Development Awards
