Whether your interest is history and politics, the arts, religion, ancient ruins and gilded palaces, or modern-day commerce, you can expect unique and inspiring encounters on this journey, for a price you would never be able to match on any other 3-4 week tour. Any NMU student, in any major or minor Community members and students at other universities who register and pay the NMU tuition and International Program fees Anyone desiring to travel and see the world Anyone desiring to make new friends and directly experience another culture Anyone willing to act responsibly as an ambassador for your nation and NMU

5 What do I need? Complete easy application form for Study Abroad Have valid (through 2013) passport. (No passport? Contact International Programs at 227-2510 to help you get one) Pack hot weather clothing, practical footgear Update immunizations: MMR, DPT, Hep A/B, Typhoid Keep clothing modest for visits to temples and royal sites Smile!

6 What will it cost? Registering for 12-18 total credit hours in Winter 2013 gets NMU flat rate tuition Financial Aid packages can be applied Estimated International Program Fee: $3,800 (Thailand), $1,200 (Cambodia), includes round trip transportation, housing, excursions, and many meals! Pocket money: $500 or more (Southeast Asia is really inexpensive)

PS 495: Study Abroad – SE Asia Pay required tuition and fees (3 installments beginning February) by the deadlines Attend required preparation sessions in late March and April, after Spring Break

28 What assignments are required? 8 hours classroom preparation and assigned reading in late March and April Journal during trip, every day Writing project (10 pages minimum) for grade, as defined by course instructor Additional paper for Cambodia, if you elect to go Due date for writing project(s): End of Summer Session 1 Audit option (no required paper) available for college graduates and community members
