Human Trafficking in Cambodia with lack of opportunities for income, selling a child becomes the fastest and easiest way to provide basic needs for the entire family A virgin can be sold for the equivalent of a year’s wage-- $500 for a week of servitude A child that has been previously sold can be re- sold for $30-$90 per night Girls are primarily sold to local military and government officials They can also be sold as escorts at the karaoke bar

Poverty + Crisis = Human Trafficking

Each person is created in God’s image: “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27 God has created each individual for his good works: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 Jesus was sent to live and die for everyone: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 As Christians, how do we respond? What does God say?
6
CGI exists to provide a pathway out of poverty through education, vocational training and business development. We work primarily in Cambodia and many of those we serve are victims of– or vulnerable to– human trafficking.
