2 Personal Life  Born in 1945 in Wichita, Kansas with 3 brothers.  In the Air Force for 4 years and then moved back to Kansas and started working with ADT security Services  Then later became a compliance officer.  Led a Cub Scout group and was very involved with his church. 4 Nancy Fox  Was just driving around and saw her walk in her house and thought she could be a potential project.  He said he did a little bit of “homework” on her. Checked her mail and figured out where she worked just to size her up.  So the night he planned on doing it, it parked his car 3 or 4 blocks away and went up to her house and nocked on the front door to see if she was home. She wasn’t so he walked around back and cut the phone lines and walked in the house and waited in the kitchen until she got home.  When she got home, he just told her he had sexual fantasies and it was problem. She got upset and then he had a cigarette with her and they talked for a good amount of time. 5 Nancy Fox Cont.  He then handcuffed her and tied her feet together with pantyhose. Then took off his belt and strangled her.  Then after she was dead he took the belt off and re-tied her neck with pantyhose. 6 Letters  He would write letters to the police and newspapers to piss them off.  In one of his letters he said “They were very lucky; a phone call save them. I was going to tape the boys and put plastics bag over there head like I did Joseph, and Shirley. And then hang the girl. God-oh God what a beautiful sexual relief that would been. Josephine, when I hung her really turn me on; her pleading for mercy then the rope took whole, she helpless; staring at me with wide terror fill eyes the rope getting tighter- tighter”  At the end of his letters he would tell them he wanted a name because all serial killers needed a name so he named himself the BTK killer. 8 Trial  He asked the police if it was possible to trace a floppy disk and they told him no when it really was possible to trace them.  He was pulled over later after he turned in a floppy disk and was arrested at the spot. And he then confessed to the killings.  Charged with 10 accounts of first degree murder meaning he would be eligible for parole in 175 years.  There was no death penalty at the time of the killings so he has to spend 10 life sentences in jail.  He asked the police if it was possible to trace a floppy disk and they told him no when it really was possible to trace them.  He was pulled over later after he turned in a floppy disk and was arrested at the spot.
