The Coming of Christ The coming of Christ is a source of fascination among many but God’s intent in revealing that Christ will come again was is not to peak man’s fascination but rather stimulate one’s preparation.

2 Peter 3:1 (NKJV) --- Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), in both --- “Gird up the loins of your mind” --- 1 st Pet.1:13 stir up --- to arouse, energize, stimulate pure minds --- clear, uncontaminated

For since the fathers fell asleep things continue as they were from the beginning ” (vs. 4) selective memory --- 2 nd Pet. 3:5-6 conduct “walking according to their own lusts” (2 nd Pet. 3:3) E.S.V. “following their own sinful desires” Warning --- heavens & earth reserved for fire (vs.7)

The lord’s return God does not measure time by man’s standard (vs.8) The (delay) of the return of the Lord is for man’s benefit (vs.9) “ not willing that any should perish ” Day of Lord will come unexpectedly (vs.10)

Our conduct (vs. 11) ---- Titus 2:11-13 2 nd Peter 3:12 LOOKING FOR - - - “ To anticipate – to await ” Strong’s (#4328) Illus Acts 10:24 (NKJV) And the following day they entered Caesarea. 2 Peter 3:13-14 (NKJV) 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;
