All Rights Reserved 7 7 Primary Requirement - Bran Purchase Management Category/ModuleMajor RequirementExplanation Bran Purchase Management Purchase contractRice bran extraction unit procures various category of rice bran from different areas and from various brokers. These purchases are based on contracts between the rice bran unit and rice millers or brokers. Generally in the contracts rice millers or brokers describes the quantity of oil that can be extracted from bran. The major challenges are to record the bran inwards from suppliers, generate lab sample codes for sample testing, test the bran samples and to finalize the purchase. Lot managementAt the bran extraction unit (godown), each lot is allocated to different parties. The unit will have to generate sample codes against each party for testing the bran. Managing lot and generating the sample codes are very important for the industry. Final settlement & Settlement revision The final purchase settlement will happen after the sample test of bran is done. During the sample test, lab will be able to identify how much quantity of oil can be extracted from bran. The lab result will be compared with rice millers statement in the contract. Difference if any is calculated and final settlement is made accordingly. If the rice miller is not happy with the lab result, he can opt for revise settlement.
