Brief History First commercial drip systems were developed in the early 1960’s (Ag) Subsurface applications began appearing in mid 1980’s (Ag) when drippers where incorporated inside the tubing

Landscape Adoption to Drip Irrigation Landscape applications grew from the need to save water in the early to mid 1970’s Benefits for drip irrigation were soon realized where problems caused by damaging spray occurred Now we are just starting to see the coexistence between subsurface drip and sprinklers. Hybrid systems use drip to “set back” sprinklers from hardscapes

General Economic Comparison to Conventional Spray Sprinklers Dripperline is generally more economical vs. sprinklers in applications where the width is less than 10’ to 13’. Using dripperline in expansive areas greater than 13 Feet wide may offer solutions to problems caused by overhead spray systems
