RateMyService: Lessons SANS group

What is our plan? Our site will allow users to rate the quality of tutors or trainers that they have had. In addition, a user may come to our site to find a tutor. We will scrape the listings from Craig’s List and present them in an easier to use format, with intuitive links to relevant reviews.
3
How does a user rate a tutor? When the user clicks on “Review a Teacher/Tutor”: 1.User is prompted to enter as much information as he or she knows. 2.User is presented with a list of tutors that may be a match. a)User selects a tutor from the user. b)User clicks a button to submit a review for a new tutor. 3.After this, the user may enter a evaluation. This rating system will be powered by WordPress.
4
Rating criteria Tutors will be rated on: Knowledge (1-5 stars) Price (1-5 stars) Personality (1-5 stars) Overall (1-5 stars) Recommend? (yes/no) Comment (free text)

How does a user find a tutor? There are three options for this. User can browse or search existing reviews, and then click on relevant ads. User can browse or search ads scraped from Craig’s List. Available reviews will be prominently displayed. User can use TutorMatch, to quickly find tutors that meet the exact criteria.
6
Search by review Review counts will be listed in red next to the relevant categories. 1.If a user clicks on the the red counts, he or she will be directed to reviews. 2.Reviews will have a title an average rating displayed. 3.Once a user clicks on a review, all relevant reviews and ads for this tutor will be displayed.
7
Searching by ad Alternately, the user can browse by ad. 1.User clicks on the subject, in purple. 2.Ads are displayed. Those with reviews are marked by a star. 3.User clicks on an ad. The ad is displayed, with any relevant reviews. These ads will be scraped from Craig’s List using their RSS feeds to collect ad urls.
8
TutorMatch! Lastly, a user can search for exactly the instructor he or she wants: 1.User clicks on the TutorMatch link. 2.User enters in his or her criteria. 3.Matching ads are displayed. 4.User clicks on an ad. 5.The ad and any relevant reviews are displayed.

Show me the $$$$ Money to operate the site will come from the following areas: Featured instructor -- For a fee, a tutor can post an ad on our site, which will be prominently displayed. Banner ads. Google’s AdSense. Amazon.com links. PayPal donations.

Mockup In order to better visualize the final product, we have created a mockup. While this is subject to change, it is our hope that this more concretely explains our design. http://cs274sans.awardspace.com/deskto p/index.html
