4 Integrated Youth Service – An Overview Sports Development and Youth Services Teams of staff in each area of Oldham (6 teams) 20,000 young people each year Diverse programmes to meet the needs of young people through alternative forms of education Opportunities to raise aspirations and achievement through wider opportunities in sport and youth

5 Some examples of current opportunities Twilight, evening and weekend activities Holiday provision Community sports clubs Disability sport Girls only provision After – school clubs

6 Sport Menu of learning through wider opportunities Sports Leadership – Supports self-esteem and confidence through development of leadership skills. Implementation of peer mentor programme at lunch times and after school Cross Curriculum Programmes – Supports children/ classes of children who are falling behind in core curriculum subjects by delivering curriculum through sport (Maths and English already available) Extended School Programme – Delivery of breakfast, lunchtime and after school clubs in sport and activity. With an emphasis on improving attendance.

7 Sport Menu of learning through wider opportunities Unity through Sport Programme – Development of positive relationships through sport. Delivery of team building programmes and activities to appreciate difference through sport Targeted Pupil Packages – Programmes designed to meet the specific needs of groups within the school who are disengaged with their peers (academically or socially). This may include working with young people with SEND, disability, low confidence/ self- esteem, challenging behaviour etc. Active Pupil Programme – A targeted programme for young people to provide a fun and educational framework to help them to lead healthier lifestyles.
