Comenius Allgemein (Comenius gernerally) What is Comenius? – Comenius is a part of the EU-program for learning for a lifetime – Since 1997 the aim of the program is to promote the cooperation between schools of all school levels and school forms within the EU, as well as the mobility of the students and the teachers.

3. Comenius am BORG (Comenius at the BORG) How did the Comenius at the Borg Mittersill come about?  10 years ago, Simmern searched for a partner school on the topic „traffic safety”.  The Borg Mittersill became the project partner; new projects were accomplished for the partnership  More project partners to join were Finland, Lithunania, Poland an Italy.  The current project partners are Poland, Simmern and Italy.

5. How was the first meeting in Mittersill?  It was very varied and we had many new experiences. We were able to form friendships with the guest students. The trips were funny and we learned a lot.

6. Meeting in Mittersill What trips did we make?  On Tuesday we drove to Salzburg and visited the spice factory Wiberg. It was very interesting. In the evening we went sliding in Bramberg.  On Wednesday we went on a snowshoe hike through the Sulzbachtal. This was an enlightening trip.

7. Food waste Did you like the presentation about food waste? – Was very educational  we received a lot of information about that seals and logos Do you pay attention to logos, origin or other things? – Yes  buying food from the region or fair products

Which highlights did you have in Poland?  first day: visited the school of our hosts.  school contains: a car service station a department for young barbers and a technology- department a school of general education.  If someone breaks the rules the young police- officers in training discipline them.  We visited: the monastery of Tschenstochau, the salt mine of Wieliczka, the historic city of Krakau, royal place, the Wawel.

11. Meeting in Klobuck What progress did you make with the topics „Diet and Exercise“?  Prepared meals in the school‘s kitchen  Every attendant country presented five of their local dishes to the others.  Wanted to go quad-bike-driving; the weather was too rainy

Treffen in Treviso (Meeting in Treviso) Which workshops and activities did you join in with?  Arrival: Monday  Tuesday: Italian Breakfast, presentations about nutrition in school meals, afterwards we travelled to Venice  Wednesday: Chemistry laboratory in Padova, rafting in Solagna  Thursday: Joined 2 lessons, a few hours in Venice, travelled home

Treffen in Treviso (Meeting in Treviso) Which new experiences did you have?  Nice to join in with the lessons in a totally different school.  Heard a lot about the nutrition in their school meals.  We mostly liked the chemistry laboratory due to the explanations about scientific research.  We also enjoyed the sports.

Aims and future activities What are the aims for the comenius-project within the next year?  To reflect and change your own exercise habits in light of social and cultural conditions from the partner countries. Also to reflect on your food preparation habits e.g Cookbooks  Having fun cooking, finding happiness in sport and being aware of the beauty of nature
