Learning Intention: We will explore and use materials to assist teachers in creating interventions to use in classrooms which target intervention focus standards. Success Criteria: We will be successful when we develop and create tools that can be shared with teachers in our building to enhance their intervention block which will focus on explicit teacher lead intervention instruction.

Set up a schedule. Organize math intervention time just like reading rotation centers. Plan before you implement anything. Set up math intervention rotational chart so students know where they are assigned and what to do. Develop guidelines and expectations just like the ones during reading rotation centers.

Explicit small group instruction Monitor all groups Set up materials for each group ahead of time Documentation of student work and progress Exceed (set up/progress monitor/assess) teachers must enter explicit small group instruction interventions into Exceed

Base Ten Concentration Materials: Base Ten Concentration Cards 1. Work with a partner. Place the Base Ten Concentration cards facedown on the table in two rows of ten. 2.Take turns to turn over two cards to look for a matching pair. 3. Keep the cards if they match. If the two cards do not match turn them facedown again. 4. Keep going until all pairs of cards have been found. ©K-5MathTeachingResources.com Listed under Illuminations on the Instructional Guide – Additional resources

My Double Ten-Frame Riddle Materials: double ten frames, counters, My Double Ten-Frame Riddle recording sheet 1. Choose a number between 10 and 20. Draw that number of counters on the double ten- frame. 2. Cover the double ten-frame with an index card. 3. Write four clues to describe the number of counters that you drew on the double ten frame. Use the vocabulary in the word bank to help you. Word Bank more than less than greater than counters skip count fewer than odd number even number full row 4. Try your double ten-frame riddle on a friend. After your friend gives an answer lift the flap so that she/he can check to see if the answer is correct. ©K-5MathTeachingResources.com Listed under Illuminations on the Instructional Guide – Additional resources *** 2 sided yellow/red counters****

A list of the Intervention Focus Area Standards Samples to share Plan a Make-It Take-It sessions to get started
14
Directions: 1. Located on the tables will be several different interventions with materials to make those interventions as samples for all to take back to their buildings. 2. Start with the materials at your table and then move to 2 other tables to create the other samples. There are a total of 3 different samples to be made today.
15
On an index card please provide me with feedback on what we did today. Suggestions: Waste of our time, something to improve, you could have done _____, I enjoyed this experience because _____, etc…
