Product Upgrade “WSP” Platform
“WSP”: Wayside Standard Platform – ASTS new Platform for Infrastructure Applications: Interlocking ERTMS CBTC Features: New WSP Platform SIL 4 is derived from already existing 2x2oo2 vital platform already in revenue service in the biggest Italian Electronic Interlocking (Pisa Central Station) WSP satisfies high performances functional and availability requirements: Better Performances Higher Connectivity Higher Reliability Higher Maintainability WSP allows high Flexibility in signalling application (Interlocking centralized/distributed / Gateway / Radio Block Centre / Zone Controller) WSP embeds New Field Device Controllers: flexible, less space/power consuming, cheaper Features (details): WSP Platform inherits hardware and software safety principle of previous QMR platform but the increases performance and functionality, allowing: Better Performances, using adequate proprietary technical solutions for internal communications; Higher Connectivity, allowing direct interface to: Local redundant Fast Ethernet network or WAN redundant Ethernet network by using different types of protocols for open or closed networks; 10Mbytes redundant Serial link to communicate with Field Device Controller; Higher Reliability, by implementing new policies for the management of redundancy; Higher Maintainability, due to higher diagnostic information available and the presence of dedicated diagnostic networks; New Field Device Controllers which allow: Fully Remote control of Relay-based IXL from a <<Central Location>> Add functions available for Electronic IXLs for relay based IXL too (by means of developing specific signal functions logic for Relays-based Interlocking) Reduced space required Reduced power supply required Reduced costs ERTMS predisposition (Level 1 and/or Level 2) Page 17
